APB RIP

APB RIP

None

It would be an understatement to say that things haven’t been going well for Realtime Worlds as of late. The company has seen a two series of layoffs and essentially filed for bankruptcy following the lukewarm critical reception of their latest release, APB. Unfortunately for fans and players of that MMO, Realtime Worlds has announced they will be pulling the plug on the title after only three months.

The announcement came from community officer Ben Bateman posting “despite everyone’s best efforts to keep the service running, APB is coming to a close” on the game’s official forums. According to GameSpot, Realtime Worlds founder Dave Jones also had some parting words for APB. Jones states “I truly wish we had the chance to continue to craft APB into the vision we had for it.” He continues “It has been a long and difficult journey but ultimately rewarding to have had the chance to try something bold and different… I am so sorry it had to end so quickly but hopefully the good memories will stay with us all for a long time. Thanks to all the team for the years of hard work, and to the players who contributed so much.”
