Arkham City Drops Back On PC

Arkham City Drops Back On PC

None

Warner Bros. has announced that Batman: Arkham City will not be making its originally scheduled simultaneous release with its console brethren. Rather than dropping in October, the PC version of Batman’s next Gotham adventure has been pushed back to November. Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game remain solidly on track for their October release.

This isn’t the first time in recent memory that a PC edition of a major game release has been delayed. Call of Juarez: The Cartel was released weeks after its console counterparts, and Driver: San Francisco won’t be available until next week. Both of those titles are Ubisoft games, though, and Driver is availing itself of their controversial online DRM. The original Arkham Asylum had a form of SecuROM, limiting it to four installations, as well as a copy protection hook that made some of Batman’s move-set unusable in pirated copies. Is it possible that Arkham City will include something similar? That this DRM needs testing to ensure that it doesn’t incorrectly block out paying customers?

While you puzzle over these questions, feel free to look over some Arkham City screenshotty goodness.
