Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed 3 multiplayer component will be expanded following its launch via a monthly offering of downloadable content packs.
The forthcoming installment’s multiplayer will continue to tell the Abstergo story for a number of months via challenges.
“The multiplayer is so big today that it’s already a game on its own,” Ubisoft Annecy (the studio who is creating Assassin’s Creed 3’s multiplayer component) director Damien Keiken told CVG. “We’ve been given the right to develop the Abstergo storyline since the beginning, which is a big responsibility.”
“As you progress in the game and level up your character, you access these files and videos,” he continued. “Every month you’ll have new challenges to unlock new content that will continue the storyline throughout the year.”
Assassin’s Creed 3 multiplayer features a slew of improvements from its predecessors, including new game modes such as the co-op based Wolf Pack, in addition to the inclusion of the game’s new dynamic weather system.
Assassin’s Creed 3 is due for a release on October 30 th in North America and a day later throughout European regions.
