Assassin’s Creed Creator Launches New Studio

Assassin’s Creed Creator Launches New Studio

Patrice Desilets, creator of Assassin’s Creed and recent fire from Ubisoft studios, has opened up a brand new studio in Montreal called Panache Digital Games. He is founding the studio with Jean Francois Bolvin, another Ubisoft fire that took place shortly after the dismissal of Desilets. Desilets says that the studio is working on a brand new title, but details are slim right now. He said he would give us more information soon.

Desilets has had a tumultuous past with Ubisoft. He originally left the studio in 2010 to become the head of THQ Montreal. When THQ died, Ubisoft acquired that studio and Desilets with it. Unfortunately, Desilets was fired in May of 2013, for what Desilets claims is no reason. Desilets is now suing Ubisoft for $400,000 and the rights to purchase 1666 , a project Desilets was working on when THQ died. Perhaps that’s what Panache will pick up.
