Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Cheats & Cheat Codes for PC

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is a tactical shooter video game for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It immerses players in the world of military conflict. The developer and publisher of the game, Codemasters, calls it a tactical shooter, which aims to accurately portray modern infantry combat. This game stands as the sequel to Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. In this piece, we’ll dive into what Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising brings to the table and explore potential game tricks and codes that could enhance the player experience.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Premise

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising takes place on the fictional island of Skira in May 2011. Because of economic troubles in 2008, China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) grabs control of Skira and its large oil supplies from Russia. Russia, already dealing with the PLA, asks the U.S. to help take back Skira. Since they made agreements after the Cold War, the U.S. agrees. This leads to a large-scale confrontation between the two most powerful armies in the world on Skira.

The game’s setting, Skira, mirrors the real Kiska Island in Alaska, giving players a natural, real-world environment to play in. Kiska Island is known for its World War II history when U.S. and Canadian forces freed it from Japanese control. In Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, players dive into realistic combat situations, where strategy and quick thinking proves important. The game offers a single-player campaign and a cooperative multiplayer mode, both of which emphasize tactical decision-making, shooting, and the use of cover. Players can also command AI teammates using a command system.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Characters

In Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, you play as a part of a squad of U.S. Marines. The game’s narrative doesn’t focus very much on character development like some other titles might. The characters are instead identified by their roles within the Marine fire team.

  • The main protagonist: The player assumes the role of a U.S. Marine squad leader throughout the game. The name and background of this character can vary depending on the player’s choices.
  • The team: The player’s squad consists of other U.S. Marines who follow the player’s commands and assist in completing objectives. These characters can include riflemen, medics, grenadiers, and more.
  • Commanding officers: Various higher-ranking officers appear throughout the game, typically providing mission briefings and updates to the player’s squad.
  • Enemies: The primary antagonists in the game are members of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) who are occupying the island of Skira.

Games in the Operation Flashpoint Series

Operation Flashpoint is a military simulation game series. The creation of the franchise happened in 2001 with the launch of the first title, Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. Bohemia Interactive developed the first few titles. But, after selling the name Operation Flashpoint to Codemasters, the two most recent titles were handled by Codemasters. There was some bad blood between the two, as Bohemia was not happy with Codemasters using previous Operation Flashpoint titles to market their new game. These days Bohemia Interactive is known for producing the spiritual successor to Operation Flashpoint, the Arma series of games.

In addition to the main titles of the franchise, there were two major expansion packs for the first game, namely the Operation Flashpoint: Red Hammer. Additionally, Operation Flashpoint: Elite acts as the Xbox port for the initial title.
