Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories Cheats & Cheat Codes for PS2 and PSP

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories is an action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. Released in 2006 as a PlayStation Portable exclusive, the game represents the 10th installment in the highly-acclaimed Grand Theft Auto series. It later became available on PlayStation 2 in 2007, expanding its reach to a wider audience. Notably, both of the versions offer in-game cheats.

The game takes place in 1984 and is the prequel to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It is set in the fictional Vice City, a place inspired by Miami.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories Premise

The narrative of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories revolves around the life of ex-soldier Victor “Vic” Vance, a character first introduced in the previous game. The storyline primarily focuses on Vic as he tries to establish a criminal empire with his brother Lance while dealing with rival gangs, drug lords, and other citizens of Vice City.

Players experience the grind of building a criminal gang from scratch as they step into the shoes of Vic. Players build an empire by taking over businesses from rival groups and completing business-specific missions to increase income and unlock additional rewards. The game also includes the traditional gameplay elements of the series like side missions and a main storyline.

Much of the game involves conflict and confrontation. Being armed and having a reliable vehicle is important crucial for success.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories Characters

The storyline of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories brings along a lot of new and returning friends and foes. Here are the main characters present in the game. Note, that some descriptions contain minor spoilers.

  • Victor Vance: The main protagonist of the game. Previously appeared on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The former army veteran was dishonorably discharged due to drugs and a prostitute on the army premises. After the army, he turns to the streets to build a drug empire with his brother Lance and a few other allies.
  • Lance Vance: The not-so-trusty sidekick and the brother of player character Victor Vance. Lance joins Vic in Vice City, and is part and parcel of Victor’s new business. A drug addict that never runs out of reasons for more cash.
  • Phil Cassidy: A legendary Grand Theft Auto character. Has appeared in many of the games from the series. These include Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. An alcoholic war veteran who has guns galore.
  • Armando and Diego Mendez: The Mendez brothers are two of the most important drug dealers in the city. They form a key alliance with the Vance brothers and their drug empire, but all is not what it seems.
  • Sgt. Jerry Martinez: The antagonist of the game. One of Vic’s NCOs at the Fort Baxter Air Base. The reason why Vic was discharged from the army and had to turn to the streets. A man not to be trusted.

FAQ

Can you fly in GTA Vice City Stories?

Yes, you can. This doesn’t even require cheating, although cheats might help players achieve it. Flying with a plane is possible, as long as you find one of the two player-controllable airplanes, the Skimmer or the Biplane.

Can I use PS2 GTA Vice City Stories cheats on PSP and vice versa?

The cheats are slightly different on each platform due to differences in the controls and controllers. However, some of the cheats are identical. There are also platform-specific cheats that don’t work on the other platform at all.

What is the best cheat in GTA Vice City Stories?

[lasso rel="amzn-meta-quest-3-128gb-breakthrough-mixed-reality-powerful-performance-asgards-wrath-2-bundle" id="175390"]

There’s not one single cheat that is the most powerful. It depends a lot on what the player wants to achieve. However, one of the most useful and popular ones is likely the one that gives the player $250,000.
