The original GTA: Vice City came out in late 2002, only a year after Grand Theft Auto 3. It was met with some healthy skepticism. Thankfully, Rockstar North, the original developers delivered on their game, and GTA: Vice City became a certified classic of the early 2000s gaming scene. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Definitive Edition Premise
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and the Definitive Edition remaster have the exact same plot. The year is 1986, and after spending 15 years in prison for murder, mafia man Tommy Vercetti is sent down south from a New York look-a-like to Vice City, a Miami look-a-like by his boss Sonny Forelli. During his first big job, Tommy is ambushed by unknown gunmen and narrowly gets away with life.
From here, Tommy goes on the warpath to find out who tried to kill him. He interacts and works with a whole cast of characters as he investigates the city and slowly takes over the Vice City operations for himself. This game is open-world and in third-person. If you’ve ever played a GTA game before, this will feel like coming home to a classic video game.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has some fantastic and unforgettable characters, just not always for the right reasons.
Tommy Vercetti – Old-school New York mafia man dressed in classic Miami clothing. Black pants, gold chains, slick-back hair, and a light blue and green Hawaiian shirt are his trademark in his new town.
Sonny Forelli – The main boss of Tommy and later becomes the main antagonist of the game. He is dressed in a classic Italian suit with the 1980s deep-v unbuttoned shirt.
Kent Paul – A music producer and overall wannabe gangster. He serves as Tommy’s main connection into the criminal underworld at the start of the game. He is dressed simply, in a short-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
Avery Carrington – A wealthy business tycoon from the great state of Texas. He serves to help bankroll some of Tommy’s jobs and deals. Dressing like a cowboy from the rich side of Austin, TX, he wears a black cowboy hat, shiny boots, and a blue suit with a bolo tie to match.
