Games containing mature content are nothing new to the world of gaming. Australia, however, appears to not realize this fact and has a habit of banning games with excessive mature content. The latest game to face this fact is Mortal Kombat, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s revival of the beloved fighting franchise, when it was refused classification by the Australian Classification Board. According to a member of the Interactive Games and Entertainment Association, WBIE is exploring all available options.  Information relating to the specific content that warranted the classification refusal has not been released, but it isn’t hard to imagine that the Fatality finishing moves Mortal Kombat is famous for probably played a major role. |
