Australia Has A Change Of Heart On Dead Or Alive: Dimensions

Australia Has A Change Of Heart On Dead Or Alive: Dimensions

None

In a sudden turnabout, Australia has decided to revoke its PG rating of 3DS fighting game Dead or Alive: Dimensions. The game is now unclassified and, therefore, unavailable until it is submitted for reclassification.

It came as something of a shock when Sweden, Norway and Denmark refused to allow the sale of the fighter late last month. Their grounds? The title violated Sweden’s child pornography laws with its photography mode, which allows one to take alluring pictures of the game’s female fighters who are, in some cases, minors. As Denmark and Norway are covered by the same distributor, the game was made unavailable in those countries as well.

Similarly, the Australian ratings board had it brought to their attention that the game contained a mode that allowed provocative and compromising images of the title’s busty female characters to be viewed and saved—a feature that was not highlighted on the game’s original application as being potentially objectionable.
