Ban Hammers Striking Halo: Reach Pirates Hard

Ban Hammers Striking Halo: Reach Pirates Hard

None

It seems like every time there is a high-profile game coming out on the Xbox 360, we hear about how it is being pirated and is available for download somewhere for those who don’t have a problem with stealing it. This time around the game is Halo: Reach, however, Microsoft looks to actually be doing something about it.

According to Xbox Live’s director of policy and enforcement Stephen Toulouse’s Twitter account (via Joystiq), anyone thinking about procuring a pirated copy of Halo: Reach should beware. Toulouse states “As with all unauthorized play on Xbox LIVE, anyone playing any unauthorized title runs the risk of account permaban and console.” To this he adds “Legit store bought copy runs no risk of ban. Key word: UNAUTHORIZED. We have ways of knowing.” So if you don’t want your account or console permanently banned from Xbox Live, don’t download and play a pirated copy of Halo: Reach, it’s that simple.
