Released in North America in early 2009, X-Blades never really found success, whether critical or commercial. However, the fast-paced action game, developed by Gaijin Entertainment, may yet find new life through what is presumably its sequel, Blades of Time.  We say presumably because, while Blades of Time stars a treasure hunting protagonist named Ayumi—just as did X-Blades—the newly unveiled title does not make a point of its pedigree. It’s still Gaijin Entertainment behind the wheel, but the new title has been overhauled with huge environments on a possessed island and powers of time manipulation, in addition to Ayumi’s array of over 40 sets of skills. Blades of Time, published by Konami, will be out on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012. |
