Games are all about the ambiance. You get a glimpse at how characters live by the little details scattered around areas. But, in Overwatch , people no longer get a little extra insight into some enemies. Blizzard has removed the magazines from the Deadlock Gang’s bathrooms in the Route 66 map.
Basically, it was a veiled joke. You know, how people take magazines into bathrooms for certain activities? In Overwatch , the Route 66 outhouses used to have magazines with Mercy and Symmetra on the pages. They’re two of the heroes you can use in the game. However, the “ambiance” was pulled from the game as of March 25.
I suppose it makes sense. It was a rather juvenile gag. But, it also wasn’t hurting anyone. If I’d found it, I’d have thought it was funny, grabbed a screenshot, and showed some friends. It’s a shame that it’s gone, but Overwatch is a work in progress. Blizzard might’ve felt this detail wasn’t appropriate for that map.
