The PlayStation 4 Fallout 4 and Skyrim mod saga has come to an end. After going back and forth about whether the games would or wouldn’t receive mod support, we have a definitive answer. Both games will be getting mod support, with it arriving first in Skyrim, then in Fallout 4 .
The PS4’s Fallout 4 and Skyrim mod support comes at a bit of a cost. You can’t use external assets with them. You have to use the assets that come with the game in the mods. People will be able to create and modify content with the Creation Kit. The plan is to have mods and PS4 Pro 4K support in Skyrim on October 28, with Fallout 4 getting its updates after.
Let’s be honest, though. We know how things go when Bethesda’s working on games for Sony systems. Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas , and Skyrim all had issues on the PS3. Fallout 4 had issues on the PS4. I think we should hope for October mod support for the Skyrim remaster, but expect it by the end of the year.
