Fixing Far Harbor on PS4 Is Complicated

Fixing Far Harbor on PS4 Is Complicated

We already know Bethesda has issue with PlayStation 4 hardware. Fallout New Vegas and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim proved that. Fallout 4 Far Harbor’s issue is just a revival of a continuing problem. Which, while now fixed, isn’t as simple as turning on your PS4, waiting for an automatic update to install, then resuming your adventure.

To fix Far Harbor , PS4 owners actually have to redownload the Fallout 4 add-on all over again. This involves turning on your system, making sure Fallout 4 is closed, heading to “Related Items” when looking at the game’s page on your dashboard, and selecting “My Add-ons.” Under “My Add-ons,” you’ll see Far Harbor. You have to click the download arrow next to it. The DLC will be redownloaded and reinstalled. That should get it working properly.

But, there’s a chance it won’t. If this doesn’t get things the way they should be, you’ll need to backup your Fallout 4 save file, completely delete the game and all of its add-ons from your PS4, then reinstall both the game and add-ons and transfer back your save.

Complicated, right? It’s disappointing that PS4 owners have to jump through so many hoops to fix Bethesda’s mistake.
