Brain Training Coming to Kinect

None

Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training: How Old is Your Brain? (Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! in the states) was an amazing success for Nintendo’s DS. It came out shortly after the system’s launch and helped to both showcase good usage of the system’s touch screen and pulled in those who previously wouldn’t consider themselves gamers. For these reasons, it makes sense that Microsoft believes that their latest announcement will result in a must-have game for the Kinect in Japan.

At a pre-TGS press briefing, Microsoft announced Dr. Kawashima’s upcoming Kinect title “New Brain Training You Answer With Your Body” (via 1Up). This title will challenge players to a slew of brain training mini-games but will also require physical movements in order to participate. For instance, one of the mini-games shown off has the player’s arms working as hands on a clock, pointing to the correct times, while another has players kicking numbered soccer balls into a net in order to complete mathematical equations. Whether Dr. Kawashima’s latest title will do for the Kinect what his first game did for the DS is anyone’s guess, however, it does seem like a good move for Microsoft.
