Bulletstorm Flying Solo

Bulletstorm Flying Solo

None

Since the omission of any kind of co-op story mode in Bulletstorm was confirmed, many were left wondering why. Well, wonder no more. Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski has come forward to explain the decision.

Bleszinski stated that there was originally a working co-op mode, but when players worked their way through the game, they tended to blaze their way through the levels. Cliff said that because of this, the main gameplay draw, the Skillshots, was neglected. Without the unique Skillshot mechanics, Bulletstorm is basically another off-the-rack shooter, so it’s not hard to understand why Cliff and Epic Games made this decision.

He also said that because of the decision to make the story single player only, they were able to enhance the experience, mentioning specifically a giant robotic dinosaur. With only one player, there is no need to worry about having a second player, or relying on an AI to replace them.

Overall, the decision makes sense. While gamers may be disappointed by the lack of co-op, Bulletstorm will feature other kick-ass multiplayer features for gamers to enjoy with their friends.
