Can The Dead Island Novel Cure My Fear Of Books?

Can The Dead Island Novel Cure My Fear Of Books?

None

My mother was always trying to convince me that playing video games would eventually rot my brain. She also tried to convince me that reading books would do the opposite. Now, I’m not sure that there’s any actual evidence to support her theory, but I’ll take my chances. If book-reading is the cure, the disease sounds more appealing.

But my anti-book-reading days might be coming to an end with the announcement of a novelization of Deep Silver’s upcoming Dead Island game. Mark Morris, the award-winning fantasy writer who penned a few novels for the Doctor Who and Torchwood franchises, is behind project. The novel purportedly gives readers “a terrifying glimpse into the horrors thrust upon the four individuals who have unwittingly embarked upon the ultimate holiday from Hell.”

Now, I know it seems a little strange that Deep Silver would announce a novelization to a game that hasn’t even been released yet, but with the recent popularity of zombie-related media, this maneuver seems like a pretty safe bet.

The novel and the game will both hit shelves in September.
