According to a report from Japanese newspaper Sankei Shimbun, E3 will bring us the announcement of a brand new Resident Evil game. Capcom has yet to announce any titles for the current generation of consoles, and so Sankei Shimbun says that E3 will bring us a major PS4 announcement, specifically for Resident Evil 7 . Strangely enough, the report only talks about a PS4 release, not an Xbox One release. Perhaps it’s just not getting enough traction in Japan.
In addition, the report says that Capcom has been focusing its efforts in the mobile markets. Two studios, located in Osaka and Tokyo have been working on smartphone titles starting this month. The branches will be uniting soon, along with Capcom’s online development team, to create more complete mobile titles.
