Carowinds will Host a Plants vs. Zombies Battle

Carowinds will Host a Plants vs. Zombies Battle

First, Nintendo announced plans with Universal Parks and Resorts for theme park attractions. Then, we learned Mass Effect would be getting an attraction at California’s Great America . Now, Plants vs. Zombies gets its chance, with a Carowinds attraction based on Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 . Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 3Z Arena is being billed as “the world’s first intra-active 3D game experience,” but it sounds like it might be the world’s biggest light-gun game.

Here’s how it works. People file into the Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 3Z Arena and are seated in a 3,600 square foot complex with 2 14’6″ x 26″ screens with 3D technology and surround sound. The 68 seats also move. Each person has a blaster and is assigned to a team, and will shoot at the screens to fight other people in the arena. After five minutes, scores are tallied so people can see who the MVPs are and which side won. You can even buy photos of yourself playing after as a memory of the experience.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs in spring 2016, which is also when Carowinds’ Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare : 3Z Arena opens. You may want to start planning a trip to Charlotte, North Carolina to see it!
