Check Out Call of Duty: Roman Wars

Check Out Call of Duty: Roman Wars

While everyone’s criticizing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for being too different, there’s a chance it could have been really, incredibly, super weird. GamesRadar has put together a video and retrospective going over a Call of Duty spin-off that almost happened. Call of Duty: Roman Wars would have been a historical entry with both first and third person combat.

Vicarious Visions, a company known more recently for Skylanders installments, would have developed Call of Duty: Roman Wars . People would have stepped into the shoes of both ordinary soldiers and Julius Caesar. It was cancelled by Bobby Kotick, Activision’s president, who liked it, but didn’t feel it would be a good fit for the Call of Duty line.

It’s an interesting look at what might have been! Honestly, I think I would have given Call of Duty: Roman Wars a chance. Maybe Activision should have given it a different name and taken a chance on the game?

Here’s GamesRadar’s investigative piece.
