Remember Taiko Drum Master ? It was this awesome game for the PS2 and arcades that required you to literally buy a new Taiko Drum peripheral. You banged on either the center of the drum or the sides along to the beat of several songs. It was ludicrously fun, and few people really ever played it because… come on… you had to spend money on a plastic Taiko Drum.
Luckily, the game has come out again for the Wii U in Japan, and it’s a little bit more accessible. Players are simply able to use the Wii U GamePad instead of a Taiko Drum peripheral, although they can buy one of those too.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about the Wii U version of Taiko Drum Master , is the variety of Nintendo licensed songs that you can play. A variety of songs are being released as DLC including the Balloon Trip song from Balloon Fight , Fever from Dr. Mario , and even the main theme from The Legend of Zelda . For anime fans out there, the Wii U version even lets you play the Attack on Titan theme song. Now that’s epic.
Now all we can do is wait for an American release.
