Custom PS4 Auctioned Off For LGBT Charity

“Gaystation” used to be an insult used to shame or demean PlayStation fans. Now, it is an insult that is worth $4000 dollars that is helping the LGBT community.

Someone actually built a Gaystation, a rainbow colored PS4 meant to support the LGBT community. The unit was auctioned off for $4,105 dollars, all of which went to support the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Rights. That’s over ten times the normal going rate for a PS4. Not to mention it’s the only unit of its type in the whole world, so that’s kind of a steal for a soon to be collector’s piece.

The console was sold through Swedish retailer Webhallen. “For many young people, the world of games will become a refuge to escape the taunting or worse of real life,” Webhallen said. “On Webhallen, we are gamers in heart and mind, and are keen that as many as possible have the opportunity to feel welcome and enjoy the world’s largest and fastest growing interest: video games.”
