Those who picked up DeathSpank last month got a humorous and lengthy action RPG for only fifteen dollars. While the game rated well with critics, and many who played the first were clamoring for a sequel, I for one, having a sequel come out two months after the original seems a little hurried. However, according to Kotaku this is exactly what is happening, with DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue coming to PSN on September 21and Xbox Live Arcade on September 22 for the same price as the original.  The reason for the quick turnaround is that, apparently, Thongs of Virtue was being developed simultaneously with the first DeathSpank. The gameplay is said to remain similar, with Hothead Games producer Hamish Millar stating “There will be more adventure and puzzle questing in this game, but the hack and slash remains.” The focus of this sequel will be helping DeathSpank seek out five other magical thongs, that have corrupted their wearers, and destroy them. While the original DeathSpank was already fairly lengthy for a downloadable title, the sequel is expected to be fifty percent longer. |
