Dragon Age: Inquisition Class Run-down Revealed

Dragon Age: Inquisition Class Run-down Revealed

A recent update to the official Dragon Age website has introduced information on three different classes that’ll feature in the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition .

Essentially filling the Holy Trinity, the classes that have been revealed are Warrior, Mage and Rogue. Naturally, each class has its own unique set of abilities, weapons, moves and story content. As you level up your character, you’ll also be able to select a certain specialization, which will open up new abilities for you to choose from.

The Warrior is a battle-hardened bad-ass who excels in close-quarters combat, and are able to withstand the brunt of enemy attacks as well as taunt said enemies to enable for other classes to throw down a deadly barrage of ranged attacks. So far only one of the the Warrior’s three specializations have been revealed, which is currently the same for both the Mage and the Rogue at the time of writing. The Warrior’s “Champion” specialization allows them to bolster their defense and attack so that they can better defend positions and protect allies.

The Mage utilizes the elements against their foes while in the heat of combat, and can also use healing abilities to keep allies alive and kicking. While perhaps not as damaging as the Warrior, the Mage can certainly help things out by weakening enemies and/or making them vulnerable for teammates to exploit. The Mage’s “Knight Enchanter” specialization presumably allows them to be more deadly with their powers, assuming its description is interpreted correctly.

Finally, the Rogue engages in combat by using incredible amounts of damage with either bows or daggers, and they also utilize a mixture of stealth and mobility to gain the upper hand. Either from afar or up close, the Rogue is a deadly assailant. Its specialization, “Artificer”, allows for the Rogue use traps and various other contraptions to make their opponent’s day a little less enjoyable.

Dragon Age: Inquisition’s release date was finally announced on Tuesday, April 22. The game will be launching worldwide on Xbox 360, Xbox One and PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 7, 2014. BioWare also revealed the new follower Vivienne in a tweet last month, and the studio will be revealing new followers each month.

BioWare’s producer Mark Darrah has also assured that the last-gen versions–Xbox 360, PlayStation 3–of the game will not have its gameplay compromised or scaled down.
