EA Doesn’t Plan to Play Favorites in Next-Gen

EA is denying its playing favorites in the next-gen, as it assures us the company has certain amenities planned for Sony as well as Microsoft.

With many exclusive perks going to Microsoft over Sony, this has led some, as of late, to believe that EA is backing the Xbox horse over its PS4 counterpart. Sony Exec Frank Gibeau recently explained to Edge that this is not the case: “We’re not tilting Microsoft’s way; we are firm long-term supporters of Sony. I’m sure you’ll see tactical programs between us and Sony in the future that we haven’t announced, but will make things much more balanced.”

Gibeau also acknowledged the momentum that Sony has over Microsoft going into the next-gen launch. In regards to the Xbox One’s recent development struggles, he said: ““I think the Sony team has executed exceptionally well – and they did not execute particularly well on PS3, whereas last time around Microsoft executed perfectly. This time, Microsoft has run into some challenges, some leadership changes, but they’re a very resilient organization, and if you look at their counter punches on any setbacks, they’ve done a pretty good job of getting back on track.”

The PlayStation 4 will be released on November 15th with a $399 price point , with the Xbox One releasing a few days later for $499 .
