As anyone who has played the super cheesy Xbox 360 cult classic Earth Defense Force 2017 will probably tell you, some games can be just weird enough to be endearing. Fortunately, despite the long wait, Earth Defense Force 2017 is finally getting a sequel, and this time it’s going to be multiplatform, coming to both the Xbox 360 and PS3 (via GameSpot).  Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is being developed by Vicious Cycle, known for their work on Dead Head Fred and Matt Hazard, and is due for release in Spring 2011. Unlike the previous game, which only allowed for two-player split-screen co-op, Insect Armageddon will include three-player online co-op. Apparently, the game will also have a new mode that closely resembles Halo’s Firefight mode, with up to six players teaming up to combat waves of massive insect and arachnid enemies. |
