Both Elden Ring standard and deluxe edition include the base game, but the main difference is that the deluxe edition gives two bonuses. Players who purchase the deluxe edition will receive a digital artbook and soundtrack.
Elden Ring Standard Edition vs. Deluxe Edition: Side-by-Side Comparison
|Standard Edition||Deluxe Edition|
|Base Game||Base Game|
Deluxe Edition Digital Artbook
Players who opt for the deluxe edition receive a downloadable digital art book for their devices. This art book contains dozens of pages featuring in-game cinematic shots, concept art, and character designs. Elden Ring does not feature a photo mode, so this will be the next best thing, short of mods, to get a closer look at the Lands Between. The deluxe edition artbook is worth the additional cost for players who enjoy gaining new insight into a game or are art enthusiasts in general.
Deluxe Edition Soundtrack
The deluxe edition also has a soundtrack featuring music from boss fights, legacy dungeons, locations, and the main menu. FromSofware is known for its impressive orchestral pieces. It’s a great soundtrack to relax to and listen to its complexity. Some tracks are upbeat to keep up with boss mechanics, while others are more somber and mellow to fit with exploring. Overall, the soundtrack is excellent but can fall short compared to its predecessors.
Elden Ring Standard Edition vs. Deluxe Edition: Which is Worth it?
While the deluxe edition has some amazing bonuses, it’s hard to recommend. The digital artbook and soundtrack can be found online for free, so the added costs aren’t worth it. However, if you are a fan of FromSoftware or Elden Ring, the cost may be worth it if only used to support the company.
Both editions come with the base game, which is obviously, the main attraction. Elden Ring places you in the Lands Between as a Tarnished. After breaking the Elden Ring, the Tarnished were beckoned to return. The Tarnished who rises from the ashes will become Elden Lord. Players will battle through the Lands Between with their customizable characters, fighting enemies and demigods to obtain Great Runes.
Elden Ring has won over 330 awards since its release in 2022, making it one of the most awarded, celebrated, and successful games ever.
