Elijah Wood’s Production Company and Ubisoft Partner Up

Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah, and Josh C. Waller founded a production company called SpectreVision with the aim of testing the boundaries of horror genre norms in movie-making. With a handful of award-winning titles under its belt, SpectreVision has now partnered with Ubisoft to bring its storytelling ambitions to life through the magic of virtual reality. SpectreVision CEO Lisa Whalen made the following statement today at the Sundance Film Festival: “We’re thrilled to partner with an industry leader like Ubisoft to explore the innovative and burgeoning technology that is virtual reality.”

SpectreVision will be working with Ubisoft’s Funhouse Studio out of Montreal. Ubisoft Montreal expressed mutual enthusiasm over the partnership. According to Ubisoft’s representative, “We’re thrilled to be working with the team at SpectreVision on an interactive VR exeprience. Their expertise in the horror film genre is exciting for us as a developer of interactive entertainment and we’re looking forward to a collaboration that will ultimately offer fans an unforgettable virtual reality experience.” So it sounds like we can expect an interactive horror adventure of some kind, which is perfect for virtual reality. Personally,I’ll have nothing to do with it, but y’all can tell me all about it.
