European Parliament Wants Mafia II Banned

None

Mafia II may have been out for several months now, and even though most players have probably finished the game, there are still those who are trying to paint the game in a controversial light. The latest person to portray Mafia II in such a fashion is European Parliament member Sofia Alfano, who believes the Mafia violence is too much, and the game should be banned outright.

In addition to being a member of the European Parliament, Alfano is also the president of Italy’s association for the families of mafia victims, which may help explain her radical stance on the issue. However, with the release of not one, but two Godfather games this console generation and plenty of Mafia-related media filling both bookshelves and cinema screens, one can’t help but wonder why she picked now to go after a five-months old game.
