Fairytale Fights to Feature Four-Player Online and Voice Chat!

None

Taking the fight to your favorite fairytale characters will be more interesting than previously thought, thanks to Playlogic’s announcement that the hack ‘n slash platformer will be getting four-player support, both off and online, for co-op play in the main story and in competitive play in Vs Mode.

To better support the expanded multiplayer features, voice chat has also been added to the mix.

Interestingly, Playlogic has also incorporated gameplay changes into the title as a direct result of comments made by players at the recent Gamescom event in Germany. Most notably, friendly fire is now an option that you can toggle on and off.

Press Release:

Amsterdam/New York — September 3, 2009 – Playlogic Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq OTC: PLGC.OB), an independent worldwide publisher of entertainment software, announced today that the highly anticipated hack and slash platform adventure Fairytale Fights® will support up to 4 players Online and Offline in both Story Mode and Vs Modes on Xbox LIVE™ and PlayStation®Network!

Both console versions of the game will support Voice Chat as well as easy access to friends lists, enabling you to invite friends at the flick of a button. Furthermore, the Fairytale Fights matchmaking system allows you to search for available games with ease.

Following the huge response that Fairytale Fights received at Gamescom last week, Playlogic has taken on board community feedback.

“We’ve now finalized friendly fire to be optional based on all the feedback we were getting from consumers at Gamescom. We’re dedicated to providing a game that we know consumers want and hope that these changes are just the first of many in the development cycle, reacting to our communities’ wishes. We’re planning multiple DLC updates and are always looking for feedback and interaction from those playing the game,” said Rogier Smit, Executive Vice President of Playlogic.

So – if you want to stay mellow and kind to your fellow fairytale characters, you can! Of course, half the fun is slicing them up when they’re going for that great weapon!

Based on the Unreal Engine 3, Fairytale Fights® is a truly twisted hack’n’slash platform adventure from Playlogic Game Factory. Players assume the role of a much-loved fairytale character, whose glory days have long since passed. While embarking on a seemingly innocent journey to save the fairytale world from certain disaster, players traverse a series of colourful and enthralling levels filled to the brim with action-packed combat, fairytale-style storylines and loads of blood. Luckily, many different weapons lay strewn throughout the fairytale kingdom, which players can use to slice and dice their way through swathes of cute fluffy bunnies and imposing enemies.

“Fairytale Fights is the creative brainchild of our talented development team at Playlogic Game Factory and that’s why we wanted it to be the first next-gen title that Playlogic builds in-house from the ground up,” said Rogier Smit, executive vice president for Playlogic. “The game combines a truly unique storyline and fantasy environment with simple intuitive controls to offer players a whole new level of bloody slice-and-dice gaming.”

Playlogic’s proprietary in-house technology makes Fairytale Fights® the first game ever in which players can truly dynamically slice through 3D models in real-time! Playlogic Game Factory has also developed a volumetric liquid system, granting liquids realistic properties. Blood will splatter across surrounding trees and leaves, and players will even have the ability to skid through puddles of blood left by fallen foes.

Fairytale Fights® features state-of-the art graphics, numerous characters and dozens of missions, as well as a variety of online and offline co-op capabilities. Fairytale Fights will be out on Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 October 27, 2009 in North America.
