NBA 2K23 Premise
NBA 2K23 aims to give players an authentic and immersive NBA experience. With the return of the Jordan Challenge, the game takes you on a journey back to 1982. This special game mode offers challenges that center around the basketball legend Michael Jordan. In addition, the updated MyNBA mode provides a simulation experience with various gameplay elements. Now in this iteration of the series, players can also opt to kick off their MyNBA career in various seasons, including 1983–84, 1991–92, or 2002–03. Each selection presents its own unique set of challenges. These include everything from automatic team relocations to era-specific broadcast styles.
The MyNBA mode takes realism even higher by including fully rendered arenas, logos, and jerseys that align with the time period of the chosen season. If the player selects the 1980s, they get a broadcast package similar to what the NBA on CBS had during that decade. For the 1990s, the package mirrors that of the NBA on NBC, and the 2000s capture the feel of early ESPN broadcasts. In addition, the mode has historical rule changes, enabling players to modify or add rules to better reflect the conditions of past NBA seasons.
