Fallout: New Vegas in Development

Fallout: New Vegas in Development

None

Bethesda announced today at a press event in London that developer Obsidian Entertainment is currently working on a new entry in the Fallout franchise.

Formerly codenamed Project: Nevada, now entitled Fallout: New Vegas, the game is not simply an expansion or DLC offering, it is a complete game in the same vein as Fallout 3.

For those of you new to the Fallout franchise that are worried about Obsidian taking over the development reins, know that the minds at the studio were responsible for the first two Fallout entries (whilst working at Interplay’s now defunct Black Isle Studio), have developed Star Wars KOTOR II: The Sith Lords and Never Winter Nights 2, and is currently developing Alpha Protocol – their pedigree is matched by only the best studios in the industry.

Details are scant right now, but the game will still be published by Bethesda, and it is set for a 2010 release on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
