You simply can’t get anything past those in the gaming community these days, as one eagle-eyed player proved in an interesting thread posted to the NeoGAF forums.
User Hasney made headlines recently with a revelation regarding 2K Sports upcoming WWE release . It seems numerous match-types (which have been staples in previous sequels) have apparently been removed. After evaluating several gameplay videos posted by the developer, here are Hasney’s findings regarding which modes have seemingly disappeared:
- Triple Threat Ladder, TLC, Table, Iron Man, Cage matches
- Fatal Four Ladder, TLC, Table, Iron Man, Cage matches
- Tonardo Tag Teams
- Tag Team TLC, Ladder, Cage, Table
- Handicap matches
- 1vs1 ladder match
- Special Referee
This comes as quite a shock, as several options listed above have been selectable in the franchise for years. While not yet confirmed, we’ve seen nothing to disprove Hasney’s theory thus far. Needless to say, the response from the community has not been a pleasant one, with many wondering why features they’ve come to know and love would be dumped so suddenly (especially since this is the first true next-gen iteration).
