Far Cry Primal Survivor Mode Set for April 12

Far Cry Primal Survivor Mode Set for April 12

Survival is the new hotness for games. Dark Souls III is so difficult, you’ll barely make it through even early segments of the game. Fallout 4’ s Survival Mode is being beta tested. Even Metal Gear Online is getting a Survival Mode for six players to see who’s best. On April 12, Far Cry Primal gets its own Suvivor Mode, and this time, there’s permadeath.

Survivor Mode will be a free Far Cry Primal update. Should you choose this option, dying means that’s it. Game over for Takkar and his tamed animals. He gets a stamina gauge, and ordinary actions aren’t the only thing that depletes it. Fast traveling sucks up food and stamina. Your minimap is good, there’s more fog of war, and taming animals means bringing them down to half-life first.

Here’s the Far Cry Primal Survivor Mode trailer.

Ubisoft also teased a special reward. People who go the permadeath route, have the Expert difficulty set and turn on Survivor mode will get some sort of special gift as an acknowledgement. No word on what it is yet. Maybe we’ll hear more during the April 7 Twitch stream ?
