NBA 2K13 is a 2012 basketball video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. It was released on mobile, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360, Wii, and Wii U, making it one of the most accessible NBA 2K titles. While it didn’t massively push the boundaries in terms of new features, it is still remembered fondly as one of the better titles in the series.

If you’re a fan of the NBA 2K series, you have a pretty good idea of what to expect while playing NBA 2K13. The gameplay remains similar to most of the other iterations in the franchise, but it’s the game modes where it really shines.
There’s the My Career mode, replacing My Player featured in previous games. You begin as a brand-new basketballing talent, looking to rise through the ranks and forge your legend in the game. You build your reputation through an in-game Twitter account, which rises in popularity as your performances improve. On top of this, you can earn Virtual Currency by playing any game mode in NBA 2K13, which you can then spend in My Career upgrading your character. You’ll pursue branding endorsements and decide your career path in the NBA.
You can also spend plenty of time in the My Team mode, which is similar to Ultimate Team modes in games like FIFA and Madden. My Team allows you to build an All-Star squad of basketball players, all depicted as virtual trading cards. You start My Team with a random assortment of bronze players and work your way up by playing games, buying new players from the market, or purchasing packs. It’s an undeniably addictive mode, which is why it remains part of the series.

Basketball is a team sport, meaning that you’re never likely to find a “main character” in an NBA 2K. The closest you’ll find would be the best player of that year, but even they need to play with a strong team behind them.
However, you do have the cover stars of NBA 2K13. Each year, some of the most notable basketball players are picked to be the cover stars, placing them front and center until the next game comes around. For NBA 2K13, those cover stars are Blake Griffin of the LA Clippers, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls.

The NBA 2K series remains the premier basketball game, with competitors like NBA Live by EA essentially ran out of town by the success of 2K’s long-running franchise. In sports games nowadays, it’s extremely rare that you’ll see traditional cheat codes being used as a way to unlock new content. With NBA 2K13 being available on so many platforms, it’s valid to wonder exactly what platforms the above cheat codes work on. Good news – it’s the same game across all platforms! This means that the cheat codes work regardless of where you choose to play.
Can I Use NBA 2K13 Cheat Codes Online?
Unfortunately not. The online servers for NBA 2K13 were shut down all the way back in 2014, just 18 months after the game’s release. This means that you can’t play NBA 2K13 online at all, never mind with cheat codes enabled.
