Final Fantasy 14 Reaches 5 Million Players

Final Fantasy 14 Reaches 5 Million Players

Look out, World of Warcraft . Final Fantasy 14 is growing very fast. In only two years, the game has seen more than five million player accounts registered, according to Square-Enix. This is partially due to the incredible success of its first expansion pack, Heavensward. The game has acquired 1 million more subscribers in only five months since February 2015 when it was announced that the MMO had hit the 4 million mark.

When World of Warcraft last reported in, its subscription count had dropped to 5.6 million players, narrowing the margin between the two MMOs quite a bit. If Final Fantasy XIV manages to overtake World of Warcraft , it will be the first time since the game’s release that World of Warcraft is not at the top of the MMO ladder.
