Gears of War 4 Has Split-Screen Multiplayer on PCs

Gears of War 4 Has Split-Screen Multiplayer on PCs

People playing Gears of War 4 on PC are going to have multiple multiplayer options. Those with living room setups will be able to enjoy some couch co-op. Just like the Xbox One version, the PC one will allow for split-screen multiplayer.

This was confirmed by Mike Rayner, Gears of War 4’ s technical director, when talking to PC Gamer . He confirmed the feature. He also said why he thinks other PC games might not offer split-screen multiplayer. “We have to deal with multiple inputs, we have to deal with focus, we have to deal with UI placement. That extra work – especially when having to also consider all the resolutions and aspect ratios a PC can have – may be why most big games nowadays don’t typically support split-screen co-op.”

Gears of War 4 Xbox One and PC cross-play was also discussed in the interview. While people playing on either platform can play together in any mode, PC and Xbox One players won’t be in the same matchmaking queue. You need to set up LAN, private, and AI matches to make those versus opportunities happen.

It’s good to see the game has so many options! Gears of War is a series where the multiplayer really matters. Especially when there are 24 maps coming over the next year and more modes on the way. Here’s hoping it offers a satisfying experience next month.
