Get Ready For Vidrhythm

None

For a while now, we were wondering what Harmonix was going to do what with the rhythm game genre slowly losing its steam. Harmonix is well known for Rock Band and more recently Dance Central, but with nearly every instrument—as well as dancing—already pretty well covered, what more can the company offer the rhythm junkies out there? Is Dance Central 2 and weekly Rock Band DLC not enough?

Well, recently they trademarked the name Vidrythm, which is apparently the name of a new project the studio will be working on. Harmonix communications director John Drake confirmed that this is in fact an active project that they are working on, though he wouldn’t give any details on the project.

The rumor mill is depressingly silent on this new game, but we have a theory of our own. Since the company has games that cover both dancing and playing instruments, the next logical leap is to combine them into a music video simulator. This seems to be as plausible an explanation for the name Vidrythm as anything else we’ve heard.
