Capcom has given us some details about Street Fighter V’s first DLC character: Alex. If you’re a long-time Street Fighter fan and you’ve played Street Fighter III , then you should already be somewhat familiar with his grabby style. Alex is a mid to close-range fighter, but is most effective as a close-range grappler (though it wouldn’t surprise me if he comes ready with some strong anti-air grabs as well). His V-Skill is an intimidating charge attack, while his V-Trigger can clothesline opponents, even breaking parries and guards on a full charge.
All of the DLC for SFV will be free, but you’ll need plenty of Fight Money to unlock the new characters. If you’ve played through all of the “story” fights for each character, you’ll have enough to unlock Alex no problem, but depending on how often you plan to play, you may want to save those for a future character if grappling isn’t your style. Also coming in this month’s update will be a proper Challenge Mode. In Challenge Mode you’ll actually learn how to use your characters through interactive tutorials. This was the biggest omission from the game at launch for me personally, and I can’t wait to jump back in and brush up on my Cammy.
