According to Geekpulp’s conversation with SCEE New Zealand’s Marketing Manager Dave Hine and PR Rep. Paul Gunn, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has practically gone platinum due to the nearly 1 million pre-orders of the Blu-Ray disc. On top of that, the Sony officials think the downloadable version should outsell the hardcopy version. That’s pretty amazing considering the fact that GT 5 Prologue is really just a beefed up demo.
GT5 Prologue contains 60 vehicles and six tracks in order to whet the appetite of the Sony racing hardcore. It will be available for download on March 27 th and will be in stores on March 28 th and will set you back a whopping $39.99! The full version of Gran Turismo 5 is expected to release sometime in 2009.
