Aleste 2 Premise
This game takes place two decades after the events of the first game in the year 2039. The Earth has been invaded by a strange species of alien plantlike beings. These aliens are called the Vagand, and they are looking for a new source of food on Earth. It is up to the player to defeat the Vagand and save the planet from their invasion. They will defend Earth by piloting a high-powered spaceship equipped with multiple weapons.
Aleste 2 Main Character
In this game, players take control of Ellinor Waizen. Ellinor is actually the daughter of the protagonist of the original Aleste, Raymond Waizen. During the initial invasion by the Vagand, Raymond was actually killed in the assault. Ellinor now seeks revenge for her father and plans to personally kill the leader of the Vagand, Gaizel. On her quest for revenge, Ellinor pilots the newest version of the Aleste spaceship, the same one her father used in the first game.

There have been multiple entries in the Aleste series, three of which appeared on the MSX2. Throughout the series, Ellinor Waizen appears as a recurring character and protagonist. Ellinor shows up again in Musha Aleste and GG Aleste. Other members of the Waizen family also take on a starring role throughout the games.
