The Top Video Game Releases Coming in June 2024

2023 was an impressive year for gaming with major hits like Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. And this year is aiming to be no different. With Sons of the Forest already out and titles like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and South Park: Snow Day! to come, 2024 is ramping up already. Here are the top video game releases coming this June.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S) — June 4

To start off June’s exciting list of releases is a Destiny 2 expansion, The Final Shape. This will be the eighth expansion over the seven years Destiny 2 has been around. The game’s expansion is set to release on June 4, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape focuses on players seeking out the Witness, the franchise’s major villain that was introduced in The Witch Queen. The expansion also introduces new content like new missions, enemies, weaponry, and a new free roam world, the Pale Heart, that is located within the Traveler. This expansion will bring a close to Destiny‘s “Light and Darkness Saga”.

Life by You (PC) — June 4

Life by You is an upcoming life simulation game that is set to be released June 4, 2024. This will be Paradox Tectonic’s debut title. And if you thought it might be similar to the Sims series, Life by You’s development is led by former Executive Vice President of EA Play and Head of The Sims Label Rod Humble.

Gone are the Sims and now in their place are humans with real conversations in real languages. In Life by You, you can also give your characters specific numerical ages instead of just life stages. And you can choose what gender they are specifically attracted to. You can also customize furniture even farther by using a color wheel instead of preselected colors. Gone by You is one of the most detailed life simulation games we have seen.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X) — June 4

Coming June 4, 2024 is the campy horror game we have all been waiting for, Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game. This asymmetrical multiplayer game is based on the iconic ’80s film Killer Klowns From Outer Space.

The gameplay is similar to Dead by Daylight but with bigger teams. The team of Killer Klowns consist of three players. They must use their zany abilities to hunt down humans to harvest their organs. Fighting back is a team of seven human citizens of Crescent Cove. It is up to them to fight back and survive the alien invasion.

Vampire Therapist (PC) — June 17

Have you ever wanted to be a cowboy? What about a cowboy therapist whose clients are the undead? The game boasts having a similar tone to What We Do in the Shadows, the horror works of Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and Horrible Histories. The game is set to be released for PC on June 1, 2024.

This dark comedy visual novel follows Sam, a former rootin’, tootin’ undead gunslinger who now wants to find more meaning in his unlife than mayhem. Sam’s self-discovery journey is guided by a 3,000-year-old vampire, Andromachos. Andromachos left behind his past lives as a warrior and assassin to be a therapist. Now it is up to Sam to help other vampires heal and move on. Your clients consist of a wide variety of mental health struggles such as self-hating vampires, agoraphobic social media addicts, supernatural narcissists, and victims of centuries-old capitalistic systems. Vampire Therapist uses real-world therapy techniques and has several licensed therapists in on the development.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) — June 21

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be FromSoftware’s largest expansion to date, beating the already impressively massive DLCs like Dark Souls III: The Ringed City. The game’s DLC is set to be released on June 21, 2024. It will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and Series S.

Players are beckoned to the Land of Shadow, guided by Empyrean Miquella. Discover the dark secrets of this world as you meet others who also wish to find Miquella. But what are their true motives?

This expansions introduces new weapon types, a new map (the Land of Shadow), and new characters like the mysterious Messmer. The new “level-up” mechanic will work similarly to the Attack Power from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This new leveling will be separate from existing levels and only effective in the Land of Shadow.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch) – June 21

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is an upcoming JRPG from the Shin Megami Tensei series. The game is scheduled for release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on June 1, 2024.

This game is an enhanced version of Shin Megami Tensei V from 2021. It has two different story paths. The first is the Canon of Creation, the story told in the original game. And the second route is the Canon of Vengeance, a new dramatic story of revenge by the fallen. The Canon of Vengeance has new locations, new mechanics, new demons, and new endings. Each story path is estimated to be around 80 hours long.

Enotria: The Last Song (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) – June 21

Enotria: The Last Song is a soulslike game inspired by Italian folklore. The original release date was June 21, 2024. Due to the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, it has been delayed. The release date will be announced on March 21, 2024. It will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and Series S.

Take the role of the Maskless One, master of your own destiny. Defeat the Authors that created this world and free the realm from their control. Become the Mask of Change. The game boasts role-altering masks. You can wear Masks from fallen enemies to take on their roles, strengths, and weaknesses.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble (Switch) – June 25

This vibrant upcoming platformer is developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, known for titles like Yakuza 5. The game is set to be released on June 25, 2024 for the Nintendo Switch.

Join the adorable AiAi and his friends as they compete to become the Top Banana. You can play with up to three of your friends in adventure mode or compete with up to 16 players in an online battle. Adventure mode features a well crafted story where AiAi and his friends seek out the seven mysterious artifacts needed to locate the Legendary Banana. Adventure mode has over two hundred new stages. And you can customize your character and monkey ball with over 300 stylish items. Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble also introduces a new move to the series, the Spin Dash.

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories (PC, PS4, PS5, Switch) – June 28

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories is a 3D adventure game based on the adorable anime and manga series, Spy × Family. The game is set to be released on June 28, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch.

Anya Forger has to create a photo diary full of memories from school, the beach, and more exciting places! On weekdays, head to class for the day and then spend you evening with your loving family. On weekends visit local places worthy of photographing. There are a total of ten unique places to make memories. SPYxANYA: Operation Memories features over fifteen minigames, some inspired by the anime. These include riding the family dog, Bond, as you play spy, use your telepathic powers to cheat at cards, and more!
