Grasshopper Manufacture Unveils Next Project

None

Grasshopper Manufacture makes some bizarre games. Yet there’s no denying that each of their games—ranging from the action/horror Shadows of the Damned to the beat ‘em up No More Heroes—is an original and unforgettable experience. That’s why their next game, Lollipop Chainsaw, is so exciting. It will be making its way to both the PS3 and Xbox 360.

In case the title didn’t sell you, Lollipop Chainsaw puts you in the shoes of Juliet, a cheerleader at San Romero High who was raised by zombie hunters. Using her superior acrobatic prowess and various cheerleading moves, Juliet must take out the hordes of undead that overwhelm her high school. In a twist that only Goichi Suda (aka Suda 51) would add, when injured, the zombies spray pink blood.

Like on their last project, Shadows of the Damned, Suda 51 will be the game’s creative director, and Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka will be scoring the soundtrack. That alone is enough to get me hugely excited for this game, as Yamaoka’s work on the longstanding horror series remains as my favorite game music yet. The game is about 70% finished, so there’s a very good chance we’ll be seeing this game sooner rather than later.
