Gwent Isn’t Going According to Schedule

Gwent Isn’t Going According to Schedule

CD Projekt Red is a developer that delivers. Look at the three The Witcher games. Each one is amazing. And Gwent , the stand-alone card game based upon The Witcher 3 minigame seems like it could have the same potential. But, we aren’t going to get our first glimpse in September as planned. Unfortunately, there’s a slight delay regarding the Gwent closed beta.

The unfortunate Gwent news was announced on the game’s official website . The message from the team says, “Delivering a good game is more important to us than keeping a deadline.” Which is a good message to send. It also helps that a more definite closed beta start date was also announced. People will be able to begin playing on October 25. Signing up for consideration is as simple as giving an email and choosing an Xbox One or PC platform preference.

While a month long delay is disappointing, at least CD Projekt Red is going about this the right way. They’re being transparent about the Gwent closed beta, and I think people will appreciate that. Even if it does mean they have to wait.
