CD Projekt Red originally released Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020 and it quickly captured attention for its expansive world and engaging story. The game takes place in the futuristic landscape of Night City and puts players in control of V, a mercenary whose decisions determine the game’s outcome.
On September 26, 2023, the game expanded with the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion pack. This edition introduces new characters, quests, and tech to the already complex world of Night City. Additionally, the expansion deepens the story and introduces new gameplay elements, making it an engaging experience for fans. It’s available on various platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, ensuring a broader reach among gamers.
Premise
In Phantom Liberty, you return as V and find yourself in a complex spy mission located in Dogtown, a newly introduced area in Night City. Working alongside Solomon Reed, an agent from the Federal Intelligence Agency, you unravel a story filled with power struggles and uncertain loyalties. The expansion also lets you engage with various factions like the Federal Intelligence Agency, the new Kurt Hansen’s militia, Barghest, and others, each offering something special to the gameplay.
The expansion comes with not only a new and expanded story, but it also broadens your arsenal with new high-tech gear and weapons. Notable additions include the new Order version of DB-2 Satara, the Techtronika Metel power revolver, and much more. Access all the new weaponry to give yourself more tactical options. The expansion also comes with a huge variety of new vehicles, including plenty with mounted weaponry. This ensures that players who played entirely through the original game will find something new and engaging in Phantom Liberty.
The new expansion also adds major gameplay changes. The newly introduced Relic skill tree and abilities give more options to the player, players are able to have an apartment in Dogtown, and there are now new airdrops and radiant quests.
Game’s Characters
The characters are a crucial part of what makes Phantom Liberty and Cyberpunk 2077, in general, amazing. V, the main protagonist in the game, takes center stage again, partnered with FIA agent Solomon Reed. Other noteworthy characters include Alex Xenakis, a key player in the unfolding drama, and Johnny Silverhand, who continues to play a mysterious role. There are also a host of side characters, like the Night City celebrity Lizzy Wizzy and others, that are featured in the expansion.
- V: The main protagonist. V, also known as Valerie or Vincent, is a mercenary who shakes up the power dynamics in Night City in 2077. As the main protagonist in Cyberpunk 2077, V’s gender, looks, and skill sets are all customizable, affecting how the story unfolds.
- Song So Mi: Song So Mi, also known as Songbird, serves as a skilled netrunner and intelligence analyst for the New United States of America (NUSA). Serving as President Rosalind Myers’ right-hand person, her skills make her crucial to the NUSA government.
- Solomon Reed: Solomon Reed is an experienced agent for the NUSA’s Federal Intelligence Agency, also known as FIA. He is known for his extreme loyalty and strong sense of duty to his country. His expertise includes uncovering spies and netrunners, information extraction, and breaking into highly secure locations.

She is currently in her third term and is only the second woman to hold the presidential office in the NUSA. She is trying to unify the country under one banner.
- Kurt Hansen: Kurt Hansen is the primary antagonist in the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty, and leads the Barghest faction in Dogtown. He uses his former military experience to get his way. However, he has more to offer than just muscle, making him a challenging opponent to anyone who crosses him.
- Johnny Silverhand: Johnny Silverhand, also known as Robert John Linder, is a well-known rock musician and military veteran, best known as the lead singer of the band Samurai. He’s a significant figure opposing the NUSA government and megacorporations and can be charismatic yet manipulative.
- Alena Xenakis: Alena “Alex” Xenakis is a former aspiring actress who grew up in the slums of LA Metroplex. She was unknowingly recruited into the Federal Intelligence Agency by Solomon Reed. She now serves as an undercover FIA agent in Dogtown and is a collaborator to V.

Game’s Cheats
Just like the original Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty doesn’t feature a traditional built-in cheat code system or any other way to enter cheats. However, for those who really want to access the cheats, and that’s likely why you are here, it is fortunately fairly simple. The console commands are enabled by installing a simple mod called Cyber Engine Tweaks. This unlocks the console, which allows the command below. With this, players are able to manipulate their characters in various ways ranging from adding money to flying through walls.
It is, however, worth noting that this might break some aspects of the game, as it is not official software. Make all changes at your own risk, as you might lose progress in the game or break saves.
