Halo 5 Map Taken out of Rotation Due to Exploits

Halo 5 Map Taken out of Rotation Due to Exploits

I remember the day I realized that playing the first Modern Warfare on Xbox Live was no longer tenable. I kept being shot out of nowhere and, being the competitive player that I am, I never stuck around to watch my kill-cams; I just kept mashing X and trying to find and take out my nemesis. Many unexplainable deaths later I decided to stick around for the kill-cam and was shocked and disappointed to find that an enemy sniper had taken advantage of a glitch and was floating high in the sky, barely visible from the map. Tons of people had caught on to this glitch and it made playing online an infuriating experience. Many Halo 5 players have been experiencing something similar playing online on the Orion map.

It turns out that players are able to safely ground-pound their way outside of Orion’s normal map parameters. This possibility, especially when a sniper rifle is added to the equation, can unfairly turn the tide of a match. It seems 343 is addressing this issue, along with a few others. In a recent Waypoint update it says, “…we’re removing Orion, in its current form, from all playlists so that we can take some time to remove and patch map exploits as well as make additional improvements to the map before re-adding it where appropriate.” There’s no estimate yet as to when Orion will make its way back into the map rotation.
