Grindstone is a puzzle-adventure game originally released for MacOS and iOS through Apple Arcade on September 16, 2019. A switch port came the following year on December 15 with an Epic Games exclusive Windows release following that year. As of May 3, 2023, you can find Grindstone on every modern console. The game arrived with generally favorable reception from critics but players have considered it average. It currently sits at 87 on Metacritic.

The Premise Of Grindstone

Grindstone takes place on a grid and you move the main character, Jorj, by attacking monsters with his sword. You can move in all four cardinal directions and diagonally. You have three ability slots that can be filled by powers. These powers affect how you interact with enemies such as the bow which gives you increased range. You can only attack one color of monsters at a time but if you smash through 10 monsters a grindstone will spawn. The grindstone allows Jorj to change the color of the monster he is targeting, allowing for larger combos.

Grindstone doesn’t have any characters outside of the protagonist Jorj and Jorja another playable character that arrived with the Monsters and Mamas update.

Grindstone Cheat Codes

While Grindstone doesn’t have traditional cheat codes, there is still a way to activate cheats using a third-party software known as a trainer. Trainers usually only work on Windows releases of games and the following trainers are specific to the EPIC Games, and Steam version of Grindstone.
