Halo: Reach Cashes In Early

Halo: Reach Cashes In Early

None

Anyone who was watching the record setting release sales for Halo 3 knows the kind of numbers the Halo franchise is capable of. It should then come as no surprise that Microsoft would be trumpeting the massive sales they’ve raked in from Halo: Reach being on store shelves for 24 hours. However, I don’t believe they were quite as high as they were hoping for.

After being made available for an entire day, Halo: Reach has sold an astonishing $200 million in the US and Europe combined. While no unit sales figures were given, this total is enough to put it in front of Halo 3’s $170 million in sales for the same time span. However, these numbers still fall drastically short of the current record holder, Modern Warfare 2’s $310 million opening day. Still, this hasn’t stopped Microsoft from rightfully declaring this to be the “biggest US entertainment launch of 2010.”
