Hans Zimmer, Oscar-winning composer of such blockbusters as Rain Man, Gladiator, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, and both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, has been signed on to compose the musical themes for Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This news comes courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, whose source is Zimmer’s Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency, which confirmed his involvement in the project. To what extent Zimmer will take the reins is unknown, but considering this is his first video game project and he has a storied reputation to live up to, he’ll likely pull out all the stops.
