With these hard economic times, news of another game developer getting hit hard isn’t as shocking as it once would have been. Still, it typically saddens most gamers to hear about these companies having to cut back or close down due to economic issues. Thankfully, in the case of Krome, there is still some hope that they will remain open.  A statement made to Gamespot Australia (via GameIndustry.biz) reads “As we have seen by other recent announcements, the games industry is still going through economic challenges which Krome is not immune from. These times are challenging and as a result, we have put some of our staff on notice pending the outcome of a number of upcoming projects.” It continues “It is important to note that this action has not affected the development of our current projects, both announced and unannounced, which we are continuing to work on. Additionally, Krome remains firmly committed to the future of all three studios,” referring to the recent rumors of one of their studios being closed down. |
